Jamille Matt: PFA League 2 Fans’ Player of the Month

Foeest Green’s Jamille Matt has been voted the PFA Vertu Motors League Two Fans’ Player of the Month for September.

Table topping Forest Green enjoyed a brilliant September, going undefeated through the entire month to cement themselves as favourites for promotion to League One.

Much of their success in September was down to the form of Matt, who scored two goals and picked up an assist in four League Two appearances.

The 31-year-old’s performances clearly caught the eye of spectators, too, as Matt polled 27% of the public vote, seeing off competition from the likes of Harrogate Town striker Luke Armstrong and Leyton Orient’s Harry Smith.

Armstrong, who is the son of former Middlesbrough striker, Alun, had a terrific month of his own, netting three goals in five appearances as well as contributing two assists. He scooped 18% of the vote to finish second, just ahead of Smith in third; he earned a credible 14%.
